At Good Day Coding, we provide high-performance navigation tools while remaining transparent about how data is handled. This policy explains how we treat your location data and our use of analytics.
To provide your heading, Course Over Ground (COG), and Speed Over Ground (SOG), the app requires access to your device’s GPS.
- Local Processing: This navigation data is processed locally on your device to drive the HUD display.
- No Storage: We do not store, log, or transmit your specific coordinates, routes, or speed history to our servers.
We use Google Analytics to understand how our app is used and to improve the user experience.
- Data Collected: Google Analytics may collect data such as app launches, session duration, device model, operating system version, and general geographic location (e.g., city/country).
- Purpose: This helps us identify which features are popular and troubleshoot performance issues on specific devices.
- Identification: This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. It does not include your specific GPS coordinates or sailing routes.
When connected to ActiveLook or other smart glasses, navigation data is sent via Bluetooth directly to the eyewear. This data is not intercepted or stored by us or any third party during transmission.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties, except for the trusted service providers (like Google) who assist us in operating our app, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
Location Services: You can turn off GPS access in your iOS Settings at any time, though the app will cease to function. Analytics Opt-Out: You can limit ad tracking or reset your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) in your iOS "Privacy & Security" settings.
